Comprehensive eye examinations

The cash price of the comprehensive eye examination is R425. Medical Aids are also accepted.

Eyeview is dedicated to providing the most comprehensive eye exams to patients throughout the Garden Route. Our modern, boutique style Optometrist clinic offers comprehensive eye exams done by experienced professionals, and performed using the latest technologies in the field.

We will make sure that you feel minimum to no discomfort during the eye exams, and give you accurate results. A comprehensive eye exam takes about 45 minutes and will give you a clear idea about the overall state of your eyes.

Especially in today’s world of electronics, it is vital that you go through a routine eye exam at least once a year to eliminate long term vision problems or diseases. Even a slight change in prescription can cause eye discomfort, headaches and other associated problems.

During your comprehensive eye exam, Lezanne will assess much more than just your visual acuity, she will test for conditions such as:
• Refractive error: nearsighted, farsighted or astigmatism;
• Focusing problems, including presbyopia;
• Other vision problems, such as strabismus, amblyopia, or Glaucoma (earn your Vitality points with yearly Glaucoma screening).

Lezanne will then review your results and make the necessary recommendations. She may refer you to a specialist or ask you to book a follow up appointment. If you require prescription glasses, we have a range of stylish, designer eyewear to choose from.

Our lead time for new frames, lenses or contact lenses is 5 - 10 business days, although we do strive to get them ready sooner!

Should children get their eyes examined?

We offer a free eye examination for children aged 6 to 13.

Routine eye examinations are important for healthy visual development. Because children do not know what “normal” vision looks like, they may not be aware of a developing eye problem. Good vision is closely linked to the learning process and is important for success in school and activities, so make yearly appointments for your children.

Contact Lenses

Take 15% off your first contact lens order—and get a R500 credit, good to use on any spectacle frame or sunglasses, when you buy an annual supply!

A contact lens exam provides all of the measurements and testing that are required to determine if your eyes are suitable for contact lens wear. We are able to fit most patients (even hard-to-fit) and will generate your contact lens prescription.

Contact lenses are small prescription lenses, worn in “contact” with the eye. They are designed to correct refractive errors and maintain ocular health. They float on the tear film layer on the surface of the cornea.

Contact lenses are available in different forms, designed to meet different needs. These forms can range from their “modality,” or how often you change the contacts i.e, daily, every two weeks, or monthly. They also fit different needs, such as contacts for astigmatism, contacts for nearsightedness, and more.

Drivers Screening

Drivers screenings are now available at a cost of R100.

Professional vision screening for your driver’s licence is done at Eyeview. Instead of waiting in long queues, you can have your screening conducted by your optometrist. Please bring a valid Identification document (ID) with.

The screening does not replace a full eye examination. It will, however, reveal any potential problems you may have before you renew your driver’s licence.

You will receive an official certificate stating that you have had your vision screened by an optometrist. The certificate indicates the condition of your vision and will be accepted by the licensing departments.
