The GAIWA.com is the Gallery of Alabama Indigenous and Woodlands Arts, which is the only Gallery of Alabama Indigenous and Woodlands arts in Alabama which is located in Montgomery, Alabama. This gallery was opened due to the lack of representation of Indigenous art in Alabama, as there is no permanent display of Alabama Indigenous art at any of the numerous Museums or galleries in the State of Alabama. GAIWA aims to fill the exclusion and void of Alabama and Woodlands art present in Alabama galleries and museums.
Works presented on GAIWA.com are based on ancient rock paintings and carvings (petroglyphs), Alabama landscapes, abstractions incorporating petroglyphs, portraits, hand crafted baskets, weavings, textiles, sculptures, hand carved masks, T-Shirts, and crafts, all by Alabama and Woodlands artists, which are displayed in the gallery, and may be viewed on GAIWA.com site.
The Woodlands area is an expansive land mass extending from Naha (the great sea) encompassing a vast variety of artistic styles and artists' works.
We proudly welcome your visit to the site where one may view works, purchase original works, order poster prints, canvas prints, hand carved masks, and T-shirts of the displayed works.
Products can be purchased via our secure online payment system or may be purchased directly at the gallery. Online purchases will be shipped to the buyer upon payment within 10-14 business days.
