Wadata Relief Care Initiative (WRCI) is a non-governmental, non-profit, non-political and humanitarian and Developmental organization that strives for a just world that advances children's rights and equality for girls and young people in Nigeria through the promotion of equitable governance and human rights.
Established in 2018. WRCI started operations in 2023 and registered as a nonprofit making organization with Corporate Affairs Commission.
In July 2009 the Boko haram insurgence began in the Northeast, and in 2011 the bandit Conflict in the Northwest escalated, the Federal Government announced interventions that affected the lives of the general population. To fight the insurgence/banditry to reduce its impact on the population, Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs) in Nigeria came together to collaborate to fight the menace of the insurgence. In 2018, WRCI launched activities to provide succor to people affected by the conflict and violence.
WRCI works with communities in some Local Government Areas (Gujba, Gulani, Geidam and bade) of Yobe and (MMC and Kaga LGAs) in Borno State. The head office of WRCI is located in Damaturu, Yobe State.
WRCI was established with key thematic areas among which include Health and Nutrition, Education, Child Protection and SGBV, Peace Building, Climate and Youth empowerment
Furthermore, we aim to achieve this through Research, Advocacy, Capacity building and Community Engagement and also in helping NGOs and other Development Partners in the Design, Planning and Implementation of Programs and Interventions, especially in hard-to-reach Areas.

WRCI is a Local-based organization committed to inspiring breakthroughs working with the poor and oppressed to promote human transformational development that seeks justice to change the unjust structure affecting children and young people through research, advocacy, empowerment, participatory engagement and promotion of health and general well-being.

A World where every child and young people feel protected, cared for and allowed to attain its fullest potential. Where Families are valued, creation preserved and the most vulnerable live in security and confidence.

• To Advocate and campaign for better practices and policies to fulfil children’s rights and to ensure their voices are heard (particularly most marginalised or those living in poverty).
• To Empower children, young people and communities to make vital changes that tackle the root causes of discrimination against girls, exclusion and vulnerability.
• Ensure all children access and complete quality education, within a safe learning environment, gaining the skills and knowledge for lifelong learning.
• To contribute to the improvement of Nutrition, maternal and child health, sexual and reproductive health care, Information and Services in society.
• Support smallholder farmers in improving productivity and reducing losses, and help communities prepare for and cope with climate-related shocks.
• Strengthening programming for the most vulnerable children and young people, paying attention to those who are often invisible because of gender inequality, social exclusion or disabilities.
• Work with children and communities to prepare for and respond to crises and to overcome adversity.
• Support the safe and successful progression of children from birth to adulthood.
• To work with Government, Partners and relevant stakeholders in achieving access to adequate and equitable sanitation and hygiene for all and end open defecation, paying special attention to the needs of women and girls and those in vulnerable situations.
