Condensation Lines

You want to clean your condensation line every 6 months. Don't use bleach as the bleach can eat away at your PVC pipe over time. Use 4oz of apple cider vinegar and 4oz hot water to chase it down. The apple cider vinegar is a safe alternative. It kills the bacteria in the PVC pipe. The best way is to use a shop vac to suck out all debris but if you do not have access to a shop vac using vinegar and hot water works too.

Filters

You want to change your air filters every 3 months. On most packages, they state that they last longer but that is determined by certain conditions. Don't get too-high of a Merv filter as the more restriction of airflow you have the more restriction your blower motor will have. This will effect the life of your blower motor.

Rinsing your condenser

Every spring once you start to use your AC rinse your condenser with a water hose. 1st turn off your AC with your thermostat, and rinse it with water to remove any dirt and debris. You should use a lower pressure to be careful not to bend the coil fins. This will help with efficiency.
