Reece Cox

Lead Trainer

I grew up on a working cattle ranch and have been in the saddle since I was 5 or 6 years old. As I got older I enlisted in the U.S. Army and after suffering physical injuries and being diagnosed with PTSD, I was honorably discharged under a medical retirement. This lead to a down spiral until I was going to commit suicide. The one thing that saved my life was this gelding who I ended up adopting. His name is Judge and he helped me find- not only a reason for living, but a new passion and career. Judge helped me grow in develop personally and professionally which lead me to getting my mare, Saphira. She was almost completely feral when I got her and I had another horse to train from the ground up again.
Seeing what horses did for me is why I now started a nonprofit (Heroes and Angels Project), train horses, and teach riding lessons to help share what walking miracles horses are with other people, and to help horses and their riders/owners develop a deeper and more meaningful connection with each other and work through any problems together.
