An adoption application must be submitted and approved to schedule a meeting with an adoptable cat at our facility.
Once the adoption application is processed, the adopter receives notice that the application is approved, and we schedule a date and time for the meeting & adoption.
The adoption contract & adoption fee are processed via the adopter's mobile device through ShelterLuv's processing system. Or we can complete a paper adoption contract and accept payment via cash, check or card.
Adoption fees vary based on the adoptable cat's age, health, likely breed, and/or appearance.
Once the contract and payment are completed, the adopter receives an email containing the adoption paperwork, their adoption packet & take their new cat home.
We require 1 year of routine photo updates of adopted cats to ensure they settle in to their US home.
Adoption Process
All adopters must be at least 18 years of age, have written approval for adoption via landlord if applicable, and be free of previous animal cruelty/neglect charges.
VCA Healthy Start Partner
As a VCA Healthy Start Shelter Partner, cats adopted through Delaware Desert Cats Inc leave with a Healthy Start Certificate. This certificate provides a free exam with VCA & up to $250 toward listed treatments.

Sencha

Sencha was found dumped on the streets of Kuwait. She's 2 -3 years old, and absolutely gorgeous with her splashes of color. While she's not thrilled about being held, she loves to be brushed, pet and doted on. Adoption Fee: $250

1-2 Year Old Persian, Quiet, Calm & Shy. She was found abandoned in a pet store by a mother/daughter. She was needs a gentle owner after rough handling by the child. Adoption Fee: $250
Luna & Nala
This bonded mother & daughter are Scottish Straights X British Shorthair. These sweet girls are ready to enter their forever home together! Nala is still very shy & unsure, quiet home a must. Adoption Fee: $200
Ambrose
Ambrose is a 1 Yr old British Shorthair X. He was found as a kitten with injuries from other cats. He is a sweet and playful boy, but submissive with other cats, so he needs gentle feline friends! Adoption Fee: $150

Tommy
Tommy is a 1 - 2 year old Persian/Sherazi cat. He was found sick on the Kuwait streets and after a long medical treatment, he's finally ready to head to the US. He is a quiet and laidback boy that is friendly with people and cats. Adoption Fee: $250
Whitney
Whitney is a a 4 year old Angora short hair. She was found in a Kuwait garden while pregnant. Whitney is friendly with people and other cats. She's front & center chirping to greet any humans. Whitney will happily headbutt people to get their love. Adoption Fee: $200
Rei
Rei is the only surviving kitten born from adopted British Shorthair, Melon. Rei is a quiet boy that usually finds a safe space to hide. He's starting to get his confidence and learn to play. Adoption Fee: $150 Neutered, $100 Pre-Neuter (Alter Contract Required)
Zen
Zen is a young street kitten that was found & nursed back to health in Kuwait. Melon acted as a mother to him, and although shy he's coming around quickly. Adoption Fee: $150 Neutered, $100 Pre-Neuter (Alter Contract Required)

Opal is a 1 1/2 year old Himalayan/Persian Mixed Breed. Female/Spayed. She's on the shy side still, but quickly learning to warm up to people. Adoption Fee: $250

NOT YET AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION. Toothless is a gorgeous & ultra rare American Curl. He will be attending the TICA show in Lebanon, PA this June 8-9th to help promote the adorable rescue cats from Kuwait.
