METHODOLOGY

The methodology of all our instruction is derived from the Principle Approach® which “is America’s historic Christian method of Biblical reasoning that makes the truths of God’s word the basis of every subject in the school curriculum for all life and learning.” (Rosalie J. Slater. Teaching and Learning America's Christian History. Ninth printing, 2017. Foundation for American Christian Education, Chesapeake, Virginia ).

The Principle Approach® was the consequence of a woman named Rosalie Slater, who desired to know about America’s Christian roots. She began as an educator in the 1960’s. While working on her doctoral program at the University of California, Berkeley, she became dismayed with public education. As she was praying about this problem, God providentially led her to Verna Hall, who had a study group on the United States Constitution. Miss Slater was completely revolutionized by this encounter. She realized that there must be a restoration of American education and Biblical reasoning that was once prevalent in early American history. Hall and Slater became life-long friends and began the Foundation for American Christian Education in 1964 (FACE) as well as authoring many books on their findings.
