Suzanne Beaumaster, Ph.D.

Elaine Ahumada, DPA

Elaine Ahumada (Dr. “E”) is the founding Director of the Doctoral program in Public Administration (DPA) at California Baptist University (CBU) in Riverside. California.

Dr. E’s 20+ years experience in higher education includes program development, online curriculum development, assessment, program marketing, recruitment, and advising. She currently serves on the promotion and tenure committee at CBU and is also a faculty mentor.

With teaching experience at public and private universities throughout Southern California, Dr. E excels at developing curriculum for the practitioner / academic (“pracademic”). Integrating her experience in non-profit consulting and serving on boards for regional non-profits in Southern California, along with her interest in serving on policy collaboratives throughout the Inland Empire she develops practitioner-based curriculum for public administration and public policy programs in the region.

Dr. E integrates best practices for innovative online, face to face and hybrid courses with 10-300 students. Incorporating digitally inclusive pedagogical competencies, activities for belongingness, high impact practices, and tools / methods for inclusive teaching and learning for courses is a hallmark of her teaching practice.

As a “teacher/mentor” at heart, Dr. E is most pleased to see her students achieve their academic and professional goals. She states “I have the pleasure of being an integral part of a student’s life story, and for an educator, that is the greatest reward.”
