Emotional and Spiritual Health

The most effective, focused and dynamic leaders are emotionally healthy and spiritually alive. "Deeply changed people have a more powerful and sustainable impact in the world"* . I love helping men clear a path and guiding them below the surface so they can experience lasting transformation. As leaders, ability to perform often creates a false metric of true health. Below are a few examples of what is meant by emotional and spiritual health.

Emotional Health (examples)*

Naming, recognizing, and managing our own feelings
Identifying and having active compassion for others
Initiating and maintaining close and meaningful relationships
Breaking free from self-destructive patterns
Being aware of how our past impacts our present
Developing the capacity to express thoughts and emotions clearly
Respecting and loving others without having to change them
Accurately self-assessing our strengths, limits, and weaknesses and able to share with others
Learning how to resolve conflict and negotiate solutions
Grieving well

Spiritual Health (examples)

Awakening and surrendering to God’s love in any and every situation
Positioning ourselves to hear God and remember his presence in all we do
Communing with God, allowing him to fully indwell the depth of our being
Practicing silence, solitude, and a life of unceasing prayer
Resting attentively in the presence of God
Understanding our journey of transformation is an ever-increasing union God
Finding the true essence of who we are in God
Loving others out of a life of love for God
Creating rhythms of life that reflect Christ at the center rather than culture
Living in a committed community that passionately loves Jesus
