One Day at a Time is an all-inclusive program where everyone is celebrated for who they are and their unique gifts they each bring to the table. You can be rest assured that your child will enjoy the same comfort and security that they enjoy in their own homes.

We offer a bright, open concept, learning space in a remodeled church that features lovely stained-glass windows, hardwood floors and a fenced outdoor backyard furnished with ramps for those who require this. Great care has been taken to ensure that everyone's needs are met in our space which is safe, clean and comfortable. Your child will enjoy and thrive in a program designed specifically to their needs, that will encourage their growth, independence and continued development. We believe that communication is key and want to work with parents to help set realistic, attainable goals for each student.

Having worked the last twenty years with individuals with various special abilities, as well as having my own adult child with special abilities, I understand the importance of helping our kids learn as much independence as possible, through a variety of means. In our semi-structured program, we create an environment where fun, socialization and learning are reinforced with the understanding that making mistakes is part of learning, a part of being human and a part of life. We are also aware that down time is a requirement for many with special abilities and have incorporated it into our daily schedule, and will be based on what your child enjoys doing most to disconnect. I look forward to discussing with you what this might look like for your child as well as any specific health or medical concerns. You know your child best! Their success and well being is what matters most to me!

When your child is at program, you will have the peace of mind knowing that I am certified in First Aid & CPR (with AED Level C) and have a clean Vulnerable Sector Check. In addition to myself, we also have a Certified PSW who has also obtained a clean Vulnerable Sector Check. We also have a certified Social Worker available to families and students on an as needed basis by appointment.

We would like to enhance your adult child’s life and work in partnership with you so that they become part of something more, part of a community.

We invite you to come for a tour and an overview of our offerings. We keep the ratio of students to staff low (5:1) to ensure that everyone’s needs are met. At "One Day at a Time", we understand the challenges that both parents and their children face in each of their own unique situations. We are here to support the whole family through genuine care for each of our students.
